Hair cut madness!

Cameron cut Alexis' hair. My mom did it for the first months then it was my turn with scissors but it is so hard now, especially being 9 months pregnant, to cut his hair. He complains so much and throws himself on the floor screaming to stop just when he looks at the scissors. So I asked my mom to let me borrow her machine and told me to put it on 8! It is really really short now but I guess the good thing is that we don't have to do this again, at the beginning of next month!!! Cameron did awesome and Alexis too, for the most part! Good job daddy!

Here is the result! it makes him look chubbier! :)

While we were sleeping...

Well, this is my son on Sundays!!! poor guy, he usually is so tired that by the time we get home, he is in his trying to keep awake mode, then he crashes!!! while mommy and daddy are sleeping on their bed!!! When the three of us are home we take our nap together but it seems like Alexis knows the trick, he puts US to sleep and then he silently slips out of our bed and enjoys the house for himself, which includes water everywhere, toys, and sometimes a dirty diaper somewhere in the house! so I think he enjoys when we take a nap, I have noticed too that during the week when I am really eager for nap time he tells me to sleep and he pretends that he is going to fall sleep but then I fall asleep and he is not right next to me when I open my eyes to check on him! eventually he does come to sleep for three hours since he is a really active kid, he gets really tired by the afternoon. It is just funny how well he knows what to do when you are unsupervised!!! I still love taking pics. of him when he falls asleep somewhere in the house, it is the only moment I can take "decent" pictures of him. Every time I want to take a picture of him, he runs to me and start taking pictures himself which sometimes they don't turn out too good! But no worries about him sleeping on the floor all the time, it only happens once in a while and usually on a Sunday! :)

My two favorite men!

It seems that everytime I leave them alone, they fall asleep! j/k, that day we stayed up until very late at my parents' house and Alexis was very tired but eager to watch "Nemo" so they decided to watch it together while Alexis was finishing his bottle of milk and so... Alexis felt asleep, he loves reclining on Cameron's chest or the tummy every time they watch a movie together!

Like father like son (scary right?)

yeah... he took Cameron's glasses and put them on himself! They were both cracking up, and I have to say it was a picture moment for those two!

Alexis is off the chart... again!

Today was Alexis' 1 1/2 appointment, more like his 1 and 7 months but oh well, and again the doctor says he is off the chart! the doctor also said that he made a huge jump in weight but then again it is also because he made a jump on his height. So he is just tall that is all. I just don't like the fact that he was born 19" and in a month he was 24", also born at 9 lbs and at a month he was 13.5 lbs! after being so little, length wise, and well... he was always heavy.. I can't believe that my baby has been looking like a toddler since he was about 5 months! I wish they stayed babies forever but I have to admit that it gets more fun as he grows to be around him. Anyway.... today's results: Height = 36", Weight = 31.5 lbs. But I love you so much Alexis! you are still my baby no matter how big you get.

self portraits

I couldn't stop posting these picture and after all, it shows how "talented" my baby is. Notice how he likes just taking pictures of himself even though sometimes he tries to get one of us in it he can't resist and cuts us out!

Blair Witch baby style

So Alexis is now able to take pictures with our camera! Thankfully he hasn't broken it yet. (But i have had to clean the lens off a few times). He also has a knack for film making, it seems. Here's some of his best outtakes:

Innocent prayers!

Alexis is praying, well... he is being doing for a couple of months if not more now! he clasps his hands together, bows his head and says lots of funny words, then he ends up with an "abban" which is amen obviously. We love that every night before putting him to bed and after reading to him he does this as a routine. He is such a smart little guy! We love him soooo much! and he awakens the desire on us to be better people, he is talking a lot more but since we speak to him in spanish and english we are unable to understand him very well but I guess that is how a bilingual kid grows. Soon we'll post a video of him "talking" I guess you could say? and more pictures of him.

No license...

This is one of the presents Alexis got for his 1st Birthday.

And then people wonder why they have to pass a test so they can drive!!!

Here's his first road test, err tennis court test...

It's amazing that he's already a year old! We've loved every minute of it. We can't wait for everything else that is coming our way and we're ready to do it all over again :)
In the comments tell us how you felt when your child turned one. Or tell us about his/her first driving adventure.

Robot Alexis

This the result of our first human-to-robot experiments. Factoring in all the research and funding that went into this, we consider it a success.

In the comments tell us what human experimentation you've been hiding

Alexis' laugh!

Is cute to see him laughing the way he does, and the best part is that he is laughing like that the whole day. We have nothing to complain about our son, we feel very blessed and he's almost a year now!!!

Attacked and attacking!!!!

Likes the space...

I guess he likes to see space in his bed, every night I find him in the corners of his crib, or in the sides. One night I looked to see if he was asleep and I didn't see him, looked a little closer and noticed that he was in the side of the crib between the bumper pads and blanket.

Playing the sandwich

Cameron and Alexis love this activity, Alexis laughs and laughs everytime is about to be attacked and even more while he is being attacked but then later you can see the look on his face and the lip that says... "now is my turn to rule and attack mommy!" It is kinda of intimidating, don't you think?

Posing for mommy!

For some unknown reason, Alexis was posing for the camera. I think it helped the fact that he loves pillows so he had him right there with him and he was just enjoying laying on them and I was enjoying taking those pictures. I hope you enjoy them as well :)

Eating Cheesecake

Even though I was against feeding a kid anything sweet before turning at least 3 years old, I decided to let him at least tried certain things. It seems like it comes natural for babies to like anything sugary, and for daddy too...

Oh yes, He's walking

Watch out cupboards and drawers, the Sutters' newest terror is now bipedal. Yes, that's right, Alexis has not only taken his first steps, but it has evolved to his primary method of transportation. However, keep your cool, because even though he can stand up by himself (I've seen him with my own two peepers), he doesn't. He crawls to the nearest take-off platform (aka anything that he can pull himself up on) and revs his engines. But enough talk, you want to see it ... uhh ... I mean him, in action so here he is:

[Shortly after I posted this, he started standing up by himself and now that is what he does every time. To quote Milexis: "I don't think I've seen him crawl today."]
His first day walking was January 17.

Moving on, we did an experiment with how we feed him, and well, the video says it all:

And last, but not least, we have to give a show out to Uncle Dan and Friend Elizabeth (soon to be Aunt Elizabeth. Yeah!) who came to visit us. Dan you probably won't see this, but maybe it's better that way...

So in the comments tell us what your biggest fears were when your children started walking. Do any of you have any fun experiences feeding your babies?
